The Railster is a rail version of an early roadster utility vehicle. Based on the designs and ideas of some of the early motor rail pioneers such as Colonel Holman Fred Stephens and many others with a Plateway Models twist.
Powered by two drone motors in the rear bogie the Railster is surprisingly nippy, leaving the bonnet empty for the battery and any remote control.
The kit comes with an electrical starter kit, comprising of AAA battery holder, switch, wire and a pair of motors, gears etc. The motors are rated from 0.15V to 3.7V which can be wired in series or parallel, the models performance would be enhanced with remote control.
The model is constructed around a classic ladder chassis design with a power bogie, cockpit, seat, instruments cluster, bonnet, mud guards and cow catcher (Kalka–Shimla Railway).
The model has lots of options for modeller enhancement and kit bashing.
Length 231 mm, Width 75 mm, Height above rail 120 mm top of the hoops. Kit comes with everything but paint, glue and batteries.
